Instructions
Rinse the brisket under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Trim excess fat, leaving about a quarter-inch for flavor.
Season the brisket generously with salt, black pepper, paprika, and any additional spices. Rub the spices into the meat.
Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add a little oil. Sear the brisket for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned.
Transfer the brisket to the slow cooker. Add sliced onion, minced garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and any optional vegetables.
Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours until the brisket is tender and reaches an internal temperature of 195°F to 205°F.
Once cooked, let the brisket rest for 15-20 minutes before slicing. This allows the juices to redistribute.
Slice the brisket against the grain and serve with your favorite sides.
Notes
Slow cooker brisket is a forgiving recipe; just remember to avoid lifting the lid too often during cooking.
